오족협화론은이 단순히 일본, 조선, 만주, 몽골, 한족으로 구성된 다섯 민 족의 협력을 도모하는 사상이 아니었다. 동아시아에서의 새로운 지역질서 창출을 위한 실험과정의 산물이자 중국의 오족공화(五族共和)에 항하여 만주를 독립국으 로 하여 해당 지역에서의 일본의 독점적 권위 창출 및 세계공황 탈피를 위한 이념 이었다. 나아가 구미에 항하기 위한 아시아적 공동체 창출과 연계되는 바 오족협 화론은 훗날 동아공권이라는 지역주의 사상의 밑거름으로 변질되었다. 만주사 변의 주모자로서 만주건국의 핵심인사던 이시와라 칸지(石原莞爾)와 만주국에 중 국에 한 인식적 토를 형성한 타치바나 시라키(橘樸)의 사상이 오족협화론의 본 질을 구성하다. 과거 일본 제국주의가 조선, 만주, 중국으로 팽창을 하면서 발전시 켰던 지역 통합의 합리화 논리와 일정 부분 공통점이 현 중국의 다민족통일국가론과 동북공정에서 발견되는 것이다. 다민족통일국가론의 본질은 따라서 단순히 중국 내부의 화합을 도모하는 논리가 아니라 계급해방을 주장하는 사회주의 본연의 민족 평등 노선이 한족 중심의 기득권 고수로 퇴색하면서 분출하고 있는 변방 소수민족의 민족정체성을 희석하려는 선전 수단에 있다는 비판에 직면하고 있다. 일본이 괴뢰 국 만주국을 후원하고 사실상 지배하는 과정에서 현지인들의 반발을 무마하기 위해 발전시킨 오족협화론의 현재적 함의를 현 중국의 다민족통일국가론에 적용할 수 있는 소이가 여기에 있다. |

| Abstract |
‘The Five Races Under One Union(五族協和, call RFOU in this summary)’ was not mearly an idea that promoted cooperation of the five peoples of Japan, Choseon(Korea), Manchu, Mongolia, and Han(漢) in Manchukuo(滿洲国). Compared to the Chinese ‘Harmony of the Five Races(五族共和)’, FROU was rather the product of the experimental process for creating a new regional order and Japan's exclusive authority in East Asia, overcoming the Great Depression by making Manchukuo an independent state. In addition, since FROU is linked with the creation of an Asian community with an ultimate soul of standing up against the West. Thus, FROU became the basis of regionalism called Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere(大東亜共栄圏). Ishiwara Kanji(石原莞爾), the key figure accountable for the foundation of Manchukuo through plotting the Manchurian Incident, and Tachibana Shiraki(橘樸), the cognitive founder to China in Manchu, constituted the essence of the Five Races Under One Union. The logic for the rationalization of regional integration developed during the expansion of Japanese imperialism to Choseon, Manchuria and China consists in modern China's multi-ethnic unification theory and the Northeast Asian Project(東北 工程). Thus, the multi-ethnic unification theory faces criticism that the theory is not to promote harmony within China, but to dilute the identity of the ethnic minorities, that erupted in the process that the socialist-oriented national equality line that advocates class emancipation fades into a dominant position of the center of the Han. Accordingly, we can gain an insight about the current implications of FROU to the multi-ethnic unification theory of modern China, which is to weaken the nationalistic resistance of the locals in the process that the Japanese were supporting and manipulating the puppet state Manchukuo. |
