| 초록 | 훈민정음 해례의 정인지 서문과 세종실록에 나오는 ‘자방고전字倣古篆’의 옛 글자에 대해서 그동안 많은 논의가 이루어졌다. 음운학이나 문자학을 토대로 훈민정음이 모방한 옛 글자가 범어나 몽고어, 파스파어 등에서 본뜬 것이라는 연구는 있었지만, 훈민정음 해례에 보이는 상수역학을 토대로 하여 가림토의 글자체계를 연구한 것은 없었다. 이 논문에서는 훈민정음과 동일한 가림토 11글자의 체계를 훈민정음 중성 모음에 적용하여 해례와 동일하게 천지인 삼재와 음양오행, 상수역학을 적용해보고 가림토에 단군조선 시대의 종교·철학 체계가 담겨 있는지 살펴본다. 또한, 우리 문자의 전승 과정을 소략하여 가림토가 제작되고 속용문자화 되는 과정과 그 흔적을 찾아본다. 이 논문이 가림토 연구에 작은 단초가 되기를 기대한다. |

| Abstract | Many discussions have been conducted on the old characters of the phrase, ‘the characters imitated the old characters′ which recorded in the preface of Hunminjeongeum Haerye written by Jeong, In-ji and the Annals of King Sejong. Based on phonology or graphonomy, most studies have discussed that the old characters shown in Hunminjeongeum were imitated from Sanskrit or Mongolian Phas-pa scripts. However, no research paper ever discussed the system of Garimto characters based on the Science of Divination Using Image and Numbers that embedded in Hunminjeongeum Haerye. By applying the same principle of inventing characters in Hunminjeongeum to the Garimto characters, which have the same 11 characters of Hunminjeongeum in this paper, we will examine whether exist in Garimto the pholosical system of the Three Fundamentals of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity, the Principle of Yin and Yang and Five Elements, and the Science of Divination Using Image and Numbers in Hunminjeongeum. If such a philosophical system is found in the Garimto characters, we will further inspect how such a philosophical system of Garimto related to religion and philosophy in the Dangun Joseon era. I hope that this paper will serve as a small start to Garimto’s research. |
